Thank you John for your explanation and Paul for pointing out the genera name


This has stimulated me to have a more serious look at the wing venation instead of rough guesswork.
I have traced the location of fork of M and fork of Cu and the location of r-r and R-M and their relative positions with the book of Pjotr Oosterbroek European families of the Diptera and a very first glance at Geir E.e. Søli, Vockeroth and Matile Families of Sciaroidea which keys out the genera

I notice that Sc does not end in the costa/ wing margin. Is this seen correctly and of may be a clue towards a species name?
Which publication is best to go beyond genera level .
