This minute bundle of hairs gives away the species, which is kind of nice since female Pollenia sp. otherwise are notoriously hard to determine.

But look carefully - these hairs are easy to miss!

Hi Walter - I've looked under my microscope, which is only 20x magnification, but I can definitely see (if I look at the right angle) some fine pale hairs on the underside of the node. :)
