Another of the Dipteran species that I photographed in Bulgaria when leading a Botanical tour recently was this Stratiomyid, found in the Trigrad Gorge on 28 June 2013. I think this is a
Stratiomys species but it looks very different to
S. potamida which I have seen in the UK. It looks far too hairy for that and this feature together with the rather pale abdominal markings makes me wonder if it might be
S.singularior. I would though welcome any suggestions from those more experienced and knowledgeable than I am.
