Hi,
I think I have the male and female of
Tachypeza nubila, both found on an Oak tree on the 6th and 9th October.
I have also seen some later on my south facing wall, I have pics of what looks like the same female on 2 dates, 10th and 11th October but I'm only uploading those from the 10th as well as the others.
Another set of pics I took on 11th October on the wall, I at first assumed to be a male, but looking closer I now think it isn't the same. For one reason, the abdomen is longer but hasn't the same shape as the female. Leg colouring is also a little different but it is also similar to that of the male on the Oak.
Location a few miles south of Lincoln UK.
Size, a little over 3.5mm.
I am uploading 2 pics of the male, 2 each of the female on Oak and the wall, and 3 of the confusing one. I'm not sure I have the others correct either, any help much appreciated! ;)
Janet :)
First the male on the Oak 2 pics.
