Edge of freshwater Sonneratia mangroves, on broad-leaved herbaceous vegetation (mostly Zingiberaceae). Quick-moving and evasive flies, tending to relocate themselves to a leaf's underside; was able to collect one male and one female. Body/wing length, male, 9.5/7mm, female, 12/8.5mm.

While others can't climb, using infinite pains,
I, gravity turning to jest,
Ascend, with all ease, perpendicular planes,
Rough or smooth, just as pleases me best.
Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol
