Hello,

now that I had found my first Phasia pusilla recently this October, I had taken a look at some older pictures of this genus and found two specimens of which I am not sure about the identity. The first one I found in August at our housewall (northwest Germany). It measured only about 4 mm. I had stored it as Phasia cf. barbifrons, but now I am not sure any more... Maybe also P. pusilla? Or even P. obesa?

Hi Jürgen, I think it's a male P. obesa.

Regards, Eric

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
