Found 02-June-2019 at Altrheinsee Eich near Mainz, Germany. It was running and hurrying - and finally feeding on some little insect it catched.
Thanks and regards,
Stella

Hi Stella. Nice find.
You may find the online Micropezidae key at http://www.microp...o/node/235 useful. I based it upon images. Any comments welcome.
Good hunting

Hi Darwyn,
many thanks! This is a really great key! I tried it on "my" little one here and even though not all terms are familiar to me, I could find it quite easy...
I really appreciate Smile
Best regards,
Stella

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
