Dear all experts
I have photos of a fly that i got help with. It is probably Tachina sp aff magnicornis (probably should be named Tachina tetramera) or T. magnicornis. Is there a chance to decide which one it is from photos? Is there anyone who can explain why the name is uncertain of Tachina sp aff magnicornis and what it has been called before or have a link or reference to a publication on this matter? In Sweden this species is not included in the official species list.

Hi gyrfalcon, the images are very short but from what I can see: Nowickia ferox.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
