Berlin - June 2017

Hello everyone,

I am trying to key this photo and i think that it fits with C. elongatum because i do not see white hairs on the front and middle tibiae. I do not have a specimen but genitalia are visible in the photo. Is it a good match with C. elongatum?

Best wishes,
John

Thank you for replying, Paul. I wanted a second opinion because i've never keyed a Cetema before. I have only seen this one and i do not have a specimen. I wasn't sure if i was interpreting the keys correctly.

Thank you and Best wishes,
John

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
