Hi, that early in the year (mid March) I guess there only one likely species, but I saw here records of other early Bibio-species, so I just wanted to be safe. Found in a park in Vienna. Johannis is a week earlier than other common species, like lanigerus. This one does look like johannis, though there seems to be a few white hairs on tergites , but only just a few. Theo |
