Northern Germany, Mecklenburg, Tarnewitz bei Boltenhagen, coastal area, edge of a dry field, at a leaf of thistle, 9th of October 2018, (Photos: kuv). Sorry, no idea (not found in the Gallery of Calliphoridae nor Muscidae). Please help to get the ID. Kuv kuv attached the following image: [141.81Kb] Edited by kuv on 13-03-2019 10:41 |

This fly reminds me Chrysomya albiceps, thermophilous fly, in Bohemia previously occuring only in the SW part, now (apparently due to global warming) distributed over most parts of Bohemia. I do not know if it was ever fond in Germany. |

Hi Jan, thank you very much for your statement . In "Fauna Europaea" these flies are not registered for Germany. But "BOLD Systems.org" says that there are two flies found in Germany. -- So I'll change headline - perhaps an expert will help. Greetings Kuv Edited by kuv on 27-01-2019 17:56 |

It is heading north, though it is still rare in central Europe. It was been reported from Poland recently https://www.researchgate.net/publication/200651943_Chrysomya_albiceps_Wiedemann_1819_a_forensically_important_blowfly_Diptera_Calliphoridae_new_for_the_Polish_fauna theo |

Thank you very much Theo for your information (Tarnewitz is not far away from Poland). I think so it's quite reasonably to suppose that "my" fly is Chrysomya albiceps. Greetings Kuv |

Photos of this species from three localities in Czech Republic can be seen on https://www.biolib.cz/cz/formsearch/?action=execute&searcharea=2&string=chrysomya+albiceps There are also many unidentified photos of Diptera on https://www.biolib.cz/cz/gallery/dir43/ (see individual families); dipterists are invited to determine them. |

Thank you Jan for the hint to www.biolib.cz (I know this address). But I can't help to identificate the diptera there because I'm only a "friend of insects" (non-expert). Greetings Kuv |
