Hi, These very bad pictures are evidence of my lack of photographic skills ten years ago - sorry. However, this Muscid male is so nicely coloured that it deserves a chance to be identified. It looks quite similar to Limnophora tigrina (cp. https://diptera.i...d_id=68782), so can this be confirmed, or are there look-alikes? The fly was seen at the Baltic shore (Bansin, Usedom Island) in August 2008. Thanks for any help, Sundew Sundew attached the following image:  [245.71Kb] |
