Hi, I think this small diptera (2-3mm) could be a Chironominae from its general outlook. Is it correct. Any idea of the genus? Thanks for your help, FRV FRV attached the following image: [139.82Kb] |

Probably Orthocladiinae. The front legs are too short for Chironominae and most Chironominae have larger eyes. Chironominae usually fly during warm weather. Winter Chironomidae are mostly Orthcladiinae and Diamesinae. |
