Hello, dear experts,

this appr. 5 - 6 mm fly was found on May 9, 2016 in our backyard at our firewood shed in Hannover, Germany. The spot was dark and shady so I had to switch to ISO 4000.
My non-expert-guess is Oedalea flavipes. Is an ID possible?

Many thanks in advance,

Hans

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
