Hello, I observed this Diptera the 7th of August on Heracleum sphondylium in Guînes in the north of France. I think of a Sarcophagidae but is it possible to identify it ? I think of a Sarcophaga maybe S. carnaria, what do you think ? Cordially Maxime Edited by maxi6215 on 12-08-2018 17:40 |

Sarcophaga sp. For most Sarcophagidae you cannot get to the species from photos (Nyctia halterata is the most obvious exception). There are several other common species other than carnaria that this one could be (variegata, subvicina,...) Edited by tristram on 17-08-2018 13:32 |
