Given the size you mention, and the fact that I can see only 3 post DC, it might be D. fuscana instead of ferina. Not sure, though |

Hello Theo, Zeegers wrote: Given the size you mention, and the fact that I can see only 3 post DC, it might be D. fuscana instead of ferina. Not sure, though thanks a lot. I assume, you mean D. fuscata. I had found that species already last year (identified by you). Fauna Europaea (still?) does not list D. fuscata for Europe. I guess this comes from taxonomic difficulties for the genus Dinera (?). I found this article. Older finds (not identified by a specialist) I had assigned to Dinera cf. carinifrons. First of all, it is fuscaNa. It was described by Shima from East Asia some 10 years ago. Later, Ziegler demonstrated the species to be present (and currently relatively common) in Europe as well. It was a manuscript name from several years, but now it has been published in ‘Diptera Stelviana part 2’, a special issue of Studia Dipterologica. https://www.ampyx-verlag.de/lilac_cms/de/4852,,refz,rd,368,3930/index.html theo |
