I think it's in former tribe Trichopodini, now considered part of Gymnosomatini (family Tachinidae, subfamily Phasiinae). |

Hi John, Thanks for putting me on track. Browsing through the Gymnosomatini images I find on the web, I arrive at Xanthomelanodes. I haven’t found any reliable info regarding its presence in Suriname, but it is in Guyana, so chances are its range includes Suriname as well. Regards, David |

The tropical Trichopoda group is being revised, or was revised recently, and I don't know the new classification. |
