Hi,

these 'spiny' (pun intended) flies I found in my garden in Vienna. All are from June and are roughly the size of a house fly. I am struggling assigning them to certain families - Tachinidae, Calliphoridae, Anthomyiidae?

If these observations should better be posted in separate threads for each indiviudal, I will gladly do so.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
