Northern Germany, Schleswig-Holstein, Schenefeld near Hamburg, earthwall (overgrown with small bushes like hazel, maple, roses, sloes, blackberry bushes) under big oakes, at leaves of Prunus, 15th of May 2018, Photos: kuv. Is my idea - after looking to the Diptera Gallery - ok? Please help to get the ID.

Yes, I don't think it can be anything else. Specimens I have taken in the past have had longer claws than these, but I guess they can vary in length for all sorts of reasons.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol
