Hello,

a male Lucilia from a balustrade at a small creek (northwest Germany). Can it be determined?

Hello Jürgen, i really like these photos. very nice work my Friend. I know how hard it is to get a single photo, so multiple angles can be impossible at times. You do very well. Nature doesn't pose for us Smile My Wife also likes these photos. The colors are splendid too. I can even see the hairs on the arista.

I just examined a fresh Lucilia caesar specimen today and it looks so much like the one in your photo.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
