Found in Bergen,Norway a few days ago. Could this be in the genus Egle? And is it possible to get the species name from the photos? Truls Lerdahl Tlerdahl attached the following image: [279.45Kb] |

In the Egle brevicornis species group. They are especially hairy. |

Thanks a lot for the ID, John. When you said it´s in the Egle brevicornis species group, does that means there are several species with the name Egle brevicornis, so you can´t get exact ID on my species? I know almost nothing about diptera, so I ask and hope I can learn something. Best regards Truls |

There are at least two other species very similar to Egle brevicornis. They have different names. One is Egle ciliata. |

Thanks a lot for the information. So to get exact ID, they must be checked under a microscope.. Truls |
