Yes. O'Mally synonymized both back in the 1980s and picked aterrima as valid name. However, according to the rules of the Code, Schiner and not O'Mally must be considered the first revisor. And by this mechanism (not my choice, to be very clear), the valid name should be auripila, not aterrima, as we have explained in the recent Finnish checklist. In my opinion, we should get rid of the 'first revisor' principle, it is highly unpractical and subjective. Page priority would be much more objective and easier in use. Theo |
