It fits well with Tephritis matricariae (Loew, 1844)
Best regards, Carlo |

Thanks Carlo I agree that the pattern fits T matricariae quite well. A probleme is that I can't find any ohter records of this species in the a large Swedish database. Do you Carlo (or anyone else) know if this species recently changed name or are there other species in northern Europe that is possible/more likely?! Best regards Martin |

I checked on Systema Dipterorum and it should still be a valid name. (last record update 2012).
Best regards, Carlo |

The problem of De Geer's names is that Chris Thompson (1993) misinterpreted them all as unnecessary replacement names for the Linnean names (and thus the synonyms), but they certainly are not, at least some. And this is the matter why leontodontis is not considered to be a valid name. I believe it needs a plenary power to conservate it. And -- yes, it is T. leontodontis -- and not matricariae!
