Denmark, Jylland, Kolding-Drejens, coastal area, uncultivated earthwall grown over with gras but also with thistle, around meadows (often with horses), at a leaf of thistle; Outsidephotos: kuv, 1st of August 2017. Is my idea ok? Please help for ID.

Thank you very much Piet for confirming ID Smile - sorry, I don't know whether there was something beneath of the mouthparts ["RĂ¼ssel"], and also at the other pictures I had I can't see anything: only the leaf of thistle.
Greetings form Schenefeld

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
