Berlin - mid August - Microscope

I believe that this species is Meigenia [vide attachments.]
I've used Tschorsnig to painstakingly deduce which Meigenia it could be.
Amazingly, Mr. Tschorsnig included genitalia for some of the Meigenia.
I think that the cerci/surstylus matches uncinata.

Following is a species list for Deutschland:

Meigenia (Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830)
* Meigenia dorsalis (Meigen, 1824)
- Meigenia grandigena (Pandelle, 1896)
* Meigenia incana (Fallén, 1810)
- Meigenia majuscula (Rondani, 1859)
* Meigenia mutabilis (Fallén, 1810)
* Meigenia uncinata (Mesnil, 1967)

* = recorded in Berlin
- = recorded in Deutschland but not in Berlin.

I am not a specialist. I have not seen genitalia for all of the Meigenia species.

If more photos of genitalia are necessary, then please ask.
I am in the process of clearing the genitalia for better photos.

Thank You very much for your Time and Effort.
I wish for all a Pleasant Day.

Thank You for your Time and Effort, Theo.

this one is tough to key. I missed the fine hairs on the eyes the first time around.
I am happy that Tschorsnig has drawings of genitalia.

I wish for you a Pleasant Day.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
