Acroceridae -> Ogcodes sp.

Member Location: Hannover, Germany Posts: 643 Joined: 29.10.11	Hello, this appr. 5 mm Acroceridae was found near Bitterfeld, Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany on June 15. Could it be Ogcodes zonatus? Member Location: Posts: 9 Joined: 07.03.15	Dear Hans, indeed a very interesting specimen! It would be highly informative to study it in more detail. In my opinion following characters disagree with the O. zonatus hypotheses: the shapes of the band on tergites, the yellowish halter knob and the transparent margin of the calypter (all are quite variable). I would favor O. gibbosus (L.) instead for males of that species this combination would be more typical, only the tibias are unusually dark (also a very variable character).
