A female Calliphoridae... and I am lost. I cannot tell even the genus awkward The closer I can get is to Bellardia but doesn't convince me.

Olleros de Alba, León province (NW Spain) on 02.V.2016.

Help, please! Thanks in advance! Wink

I am also in doubt.
It is either a Melinda or a weird Protocalliphora female, I think.

Thanks a lot, Stéphane and Theo!! Smile

Yes, it has to be Melinda sp. Size did mislead me as it looked bigger than usual and I ruled out the possibility (big mistake on my part). But looking carefully, it makes sense and really fits TumbsUp

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
