12mm sunning on Bramble leaf 7.9.15, Wiltshire, UK. I'd be grateful for confirmation of my tentative ID based largley on the red-banded legs and reddish abdomen.

Hello Dichetophora is certainly correct, to ID obliterata one should see clearly two small brisles on the posterior calli (I think I can see them on your pictures but it is not clear!). So if you put a higher resolution image, one can tell for sure. Bye |

Many thanks Jonas; I think the 2 bristles you mention are present on the postalar calli visible in this crop.
