Tachinidae Clemelis pullata

Italy, Alps near Monte Bianco, 2100 msl, 6th August. Above tree-line, herb rich seepage near high scree slopes, on Asteraceae. (Same site as Masistylum arcuatum) I think this is Clemelis pullata, Steve sd attached the following image: [178.04Kb] |

At least in Asia, Clemelis can be very local. I would not be surprised if some of these like majuscula turn up in Italy. Of course, that by no means this implies this is not pullata. Get the male, if you please ! Theo |
