Hi,
Please have a look at some photos of a nice little fly from southern Brandenburg, seen in July 2012. It seemed to have received a diagonal hit across the thorax but was fine and lively. I do not know where to put it - it is muscid-ish, but in the last picture there might be a subscutellum visible, so a strange Tachinid? I am very curious to learn more about it!
Thanks for help, Sundew

So I was right to see a subscutellum! These Tachinids are really diverse. Many thanks, Stephane.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
