Policheta sounds good ... I have received quite a few records of this species this year.

Well, I want to thank you all for the great help and the "time that you lost" for the research"!

Theo, for me would be enough 1/300 of your experience Wink (I mean I would be happy to have just a bit of your experience)

See you at the next Tachinid!

Ciao,
Marcello

I caught this species slightly more than a month ago, that is why I recognized it quickly. It seems, it is one of the latest tachinids in the year.

Erikas, I never seen it before, I don't know if I would be able to identify it anyway ...

Thank you for the help!

It is a very rare tachinid here and restricted to the south-west of our country - so an unusual distribution. In a normal year we get zero records but we had 3 this year ... just my luck that I didn't link them to these photos!! Wink

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
