That seems to be Paracraspedothix (one species only: montivaga).

Any info on habitat of this fly ?

I always think that it lives in wet woodland, kitchen windows and shady driveways (from the localities that were reported to me) Smile These all seem to point towards a species that attacks something on shade-loving plants.

Hello Theo and Chris,

Right, I found it in a rather shady park here nearby.

Regards,

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol
