Found on rank vegetation, Lincoln, UK May 15th 2010. My thoughts, a species of Picture Wing Fly?

Hi Mick - welcome to the forum. It looks like either a tephritid or ulidiid to me but someone better qualified than me will come along soon

Paul is aaaaa-bsolutely right: E. heraclei (Tephritidae). So, NOT a "picture-winged fly" (=Ulidiidae). Val |
