Hello,

I photographed this fly in in the Point d'Esny Wetlands, Mauritius, on April 23rd 2024. I think it is a Tachinidae, but I'm not totally sure about that. Is it possible to identify its genus or species from these photos?

Thank you in advance,
Emanuele

This must be one of the prettiest Tachinidae ever seen !
Looks like a Phasia (not known from Mauritius) or similar, I guess you could not collect it ?

For what it is worth: it more or less keys out with Crosskey (1984) to Bogosiella, but it does not agree with the only species known in this genus ....

I think I am convinced it is not any of the species recorded from Mauritius in the checklist of world Tachinidae.

Thank you both very much! Unfortunately I only have these pictures, no specimen.
