Sorry, I do not manage to post two pictures in one thread, neither do I get "Preview Thread" function to work. Here is a second Asilidae from Japan, very similar to No. 1 but with white rather than black "beard". Picture taken beginning of October 2022 also in Kyoto, but in a park far away from No. 1 with several lakes close by. Also about 12mm. The same species or another one? Could someone please send me hints to joerg.schneider@dfg.de how to submit proper threads with more than one foto. Thank you so much, Jörg
