In a puddle in Frankenhoehe Nature Park, old deciduous forest, near Ansbach, 2022-06-18:
Female Poecilobothrus nobilitatus with prey: red larva of Chironomus sp.

In the same puddle: lots of Poecilobothrus nobilitatus - males with lekking grounds

A larva in a puddle is probably not Chironomus plumosus, which breeds in lakes.
