Hi Victor, I think Beris is correct and it's possibly a female B. vallata: yellow abdomen and wings, dark stigma.
Greetings, Eric Kloeckner

Thank you, Eric !
I am a little bothered by greenish breasts and rather yellow legs.
Could it be Beris morrisii female ?

The antenna is too short for vallata.
I think the abdomen looks orange, but actually isn't.
In any case, it is not morrisii, since the vertex is broad.

So I am leaning towards B. chalybata.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
