Hello,
yesterday I found this midge in a small box with a piece of rotten dead wood which I brought with larvae from a forest some weeks ago.
Is it a Neolimonia dumetorum?
Thanks
Marion

Hi Marion, I've never seen that fly, but after checking with ccw.naturalis.nl I'm sure it is correct!
Greetings, Eric Kloeckner

Hi Eric, thank you for confirmation. I used the same site.
Today I wanted to take some better photos, but the midge escaped and vanished.
Best regards,
Marion

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
