Hello I found this fly in the garden in Bexbach/Germany. size about 10-12 mm. Is this Calliphora vomitoria? Is Calliphora vomitoria a synonym to Calliphora vicina? thx Volker Volker attached the following image: [120.07Kb] |

NO, those are 2 good species. Vicina is by far the most common. This looks like vicina Theo |

vomitoria has black gena, red beard. vicina has reddish gena, darker beard. There are more differences and more species as well. Use the search, type Calliphora and you will find many info on this board. Theo |
