It is not a hoverfly but a soldierfly (Stratiomyidae) of genus Stratiomys! I rather more interesting insect than a hoverfly if I may sayPfft

Thank you for ID. You are right Kahis, a soldierfly is somewhat more interesting.


It is funny to catch two flies in one picture. I also have one with a couple Cantharis rufa (beetles). The flowers are very popular Wink

I think for the beetles, it's not Cantharis rufa but Rhagonycha fulva, all redish with the apex of the wings black (the photo is too dark), and the flower is perhaps Heracleum sp.
