Hello,

today I photographed this fly in a small forest in Germany, Saxony. Is species ID possible?
Is it a tachinid or belongs it to another family?

It looks like a tachinid to me - possibly Phyllomya volvulus Smile
Manager of the UK Species Inventory in the Angela Marmont Centre for UK Biodiversity at the Natural History Museum, London.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
