Two Nemotelus flies close to each other in the same Daucus carota flower. I suppose they are a male and a female N. panthericus, which have a strong sexual dimorphism. Quite small (about 4mm), near the sea in Portugal. Thanks, Joaquim Gaspar Alvesgaspar attached the following image: [121.82Kb] |

Same as the other recent Nemotelus: N. nigriforns or N. pantherinus. They may not even be the same species. Top one does not appear to have white markings above the antennae (N. nigrifrons[/i]), bottom gives impression of being N. pantehrinus but, unfortunately, there is just too much blur in the picture.
