Hello,

there were (as always) many Phaonia subventa and tuguriorum on the wing these weeks. But this fly seemed to be different: rather big (10 mm) and more yellowish grey. A late Phaonia valida? In nightly garden at light (northwest Germany).

Jurgen, I don't think so. Too amber-like is scutellum; too shining is thoracic dusting. It is Mydaea.

Thank you, Nikita! That is interesting, too. I cannot remember having found a Mydaea so late in autumn. I mostly find them in summer in the forest.
