Hello!

On first glance I thought, this 2.5 mm fly last Tuesday night at our wintergarden (northwest Germany) was one of the usual darkish Drosophilidae. But looking at it on the PC I now think, it is a different family. But which...?

Thanks a lot, Roger! I don't find that family very often. Only had Mycetaulus bipunctatus once...
Best regards,
Jürgen

You just need to have lots of cats crapping in your garden Juergen, then you will see plenty. They seem to like that...Wink Or otters,I've got a big dog otter living under my shed again...dread to think what size it;s going to be dropping ...
BTW..Hope this doesn't put you off your breakfast...Pfft
Regards...Roger

PS; I can round up some of my neighbour's cats and send them to you [before the otter eats them]..if you want...[Free of charge] Pfft

Aw, I have been sticking my head into sphaerocerid matters too much the last few weeks. I meant Aulacigaster but that frontal lobe of mine slipped. Wink
