Hello,
On October 11, 2018 on ivy in the south of France.
I hesitate between Pelateria and Linnaemya.
Thank you for your help with this identification.

The eyes are haired, the pedicel much shorter than first flagellomere, and the parafacial is apparently bare.

Peleteria, like all French Tachinini, has bare eyes. Linnaemya, like most of the common Ernestiini, has hairy eyes. Also, the pedicel is generally longer in Tachinini than Ernestiini. Peleteria has a distinctive pair of bristles on the lower parafacial. (A few related New World genera also have the bristles.)

Thank you very much John,
Linnaemya, then, with her hairy eyes.
I have a better understanding of the differences between the two thanks to your explanations.

Thank you very much Theo,
I am glad that we can get to the species, even with a hesitation between two species.
I think that this Limmaenya of 13 October 2017, also on ivy, is yet another species.

Maybe I need to open a new thread for this Linnaemya of October 13, 2017?
If you think it's a different kind of comta / soror

Yes, Liliane, please move to a new thread.
Never post different specimens in one threat, since they might prove different species.
As in this case .......
