The eyes are haired, the pedicel much shorter than first flagellomere, and the parafacial is apparently bare. Peleteria, like all French Tachinini, has bare eyes. Linnaemya, like most of the common Ernestiini, has hairy eyes. Also, the pedicel is generally longer in Tachinini than Ernestiini. Peleteria has a distinctive pair of bristles on the lower parafacial. (A few related New World genera also have the bristles.) |
