Thanks Valerio! I'd like to be as sure as possible before logging this observation. As far as I know, the only Chrysopilus in the British List are asiliformis (aureus), cristatus (auratus), erythrophthalmus and laetus I think the latter 2 are quite rare. You're right. Legs + thorax are quite useful to distinguish this species from C. cristatus. And this female is asiliformis. Oops...I was writing "It's a female, but I bet you already knew it". But while I was modifying the text I made some catastrophe |
