I have misjudged this one, it is frontosa after all.
In the hand, the difference is easy. If you turn the abdomen to and fro, frontosa always has strong anterior bands on tergites, subalpina has a Sarcophaga-Pollenia like shifting pattern on all tergites.
But we cannot turn pictures, alas.

The length of third antennal segment, the broad vertex and the strongly convex facial ridge clearly point to B. frontosa. Which makes much more sense given date. I expect subalpina in Norway around in May, possibly end of April.
