Hello ebbek, Acartophthalmidae! A very small family of 4 species total, I believe. Very closely related to Clusiidae. This can only be Acartophthalmus bicolor! You can catch this species here in the Netherlands in summer on rotting mushrooms and corpses of small vertebrates. Usually in shaded forests. Greetings, Ectemnius |

Not so many reports of this fly from Sweden where A. nigrinus seems to be more common. Ectemnius - do you know if A bicolor is typical of broad-leaved forests or is it also found in forests with spruce or pine? In this case the malaise trap was situated in the border between an old beech forest and open mires. Krister |
