HI,

I thought this specimen would be easy to identify with such caracteristic genitalia, but I'm stuck!

There is no strong setae on the tergite (on my 2 mâle and 1 female). But on the species with this caracteristic are not similar (Closest would be Rhadiurgus variabilis or Antiphrisson trifarius, but still quite different)

Or, it could belong to the Machimus group, but I can't find any species that would fit a straight sternite 9 and those genitalia.

Any ideas?

1800m high, rocky place, few bushs

If anything, this should be Tolmerus corsicus, description Engel 1930 fits pretty well, in Séguy (Eutolmus) a bit more difficult.
Greetings,

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
