Abstract.
A check list and keys to Eastern Mediterranean genera and species of Dolichopodidae are compiled. 515 species and 53 genera known in this region are included in the check list, belonging to the nine sub-families. 511 species are included in the keys. Introductory notes concerning systematic position and morphology of Dolichopodidae and new species records for some regions are given.

Introduction.
Phototheque contains more than 2000 photos of Doli's imago
for about 350 common and rare species. Their quality is more or less moderate, sometimes bad (sorry). Basic lay-out includes photos of habitus, antenna, wing, hypopygium and/or other male secondary sexual characters. A few photos of live flies are included; thanks to amateur entomologists who presented them for the Doli Homepage (Phototheque): http://www.dolicho.narod.ru/
Some helpful black and white line drawings are borrowed from old books. Many thanks to editors of Die Fliegen der Palaearktischen Region and to Patrick Grootaert for their permission to use black and white drawings.
